About our Team

The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Engineering team offers services from initial concept through Power Systems Analysis, Cabling, Substations, Transmission and Distribution Infrastructure, System Balancing and Compensation, Protection Systems, SCADA, Communications, Converter Station Design, HVDC Systems, and overseas links.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise in civil engineering design for power transmission and distribution projects, including creating plans for substations, transmission towers, and underground cable systems using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit.
• Support the full project lifecycle from concept to detailed design for various facilities including substations, power stations, data centers, BESS, and renewables.
• Review engineering deliverables such as designs, reports, proposals, and drawings.
• Participate in bids, proposals, and represent the company in client meetings as a senior civil engineering team member.
• Manage project scope, technical delivery, and client engagement for civil works.
• Contribute to large programs like the Great Grid Upgrade projects.
• Provide technical evaluations and problem-solving solutions, contribute to proposals with detailed project plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards.
• Lead project and client meetings, follow design management processes.
• Participate in business planning and strategic growth activities.
• Mentor team members, support professional development and accreditation.
• Collaborate with global teams to deliver projects regionally.
• Ensure design submissions meet codes, standards, and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in UK infrastructure engineering, preferably from a private/consultancy background.
• Civil Engineering degree with over 10 years supporting utility clients, with experience in electrical transmission/distribution, wind, solar, BESS, and substations.
• Expertise in civil components of utility infrastructure, including site layout, grading, drainage, and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Experience with National Grid projects is advantageous.
• Chartered status and CDAE/CDAE certifications are advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills.
