Job summary

SSE’s in‑house construction team is seeking a Site Supervisor to lead capital projects replacing electrical assets from 11kV to 132kV at substations across the South of England. You will coordinate the work programme, ensure resources are available and act as the main site contact to keep programmes on track.

The role requires experience leading site teams, a strong focus on health and safety and knowledge of CDM regulations, with travel across the region and a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational electricity substation environments (11kV–132kV).
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and Principal Contractor duties.
• Proven experience supervising site teams on live substations.
• Familiarity with health and safety regs including COSHH and CDM.
• Willingness to travel across the region and hold a valid driving license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate our work programme to ensure resources are available and prepare Construction Phase Plans per CDM.
• Supervise site works, set staff to work and act as the main site contact.
• Review contractor RAMS as necessary.
• Induct staff, contractors and sub-contractors on site; run toolbox talks and issue safety docs.
• Order minor materials, track orders and invoices; manage welfare provisions on site.
