Job summary

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks is seeking an Asset Technology Standards Engineer to help shape substation control systems, developing standards and secure-by-design solutions for a smarter, more resilient electricity network.

You will work across RTUs, protection systems and PLCs, leading equipment selection, testing and configuration, driving standardisation and innovation while supporting a digitised network that enables Net Zero.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing or commissioning substation control systems.
• Strong OT knowledge including RTUs, protocols and automation.
• Experience configuring industry-standard control equipment and documenting standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standards and policies for substation control systems.
• Design, test and approve OT solutions with standardised configurations.
• Lead technical assurance activities and equipment approvals.
• Apply cyber security and regulatory requirements to OT systems.
• Provide technical leadership to projects and stakeholders.
