Job summary

SSEN Distribution, part of SSE, is seeking an Asset Technology Standards Engineer to shape substation control system standards and secure-by-design solutions. You will lead equipment selection, testing and configuration across RTUs and automation platforms, driving standardisation and innovation for a smarter, more resilient electricity network.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, configuring and/or commissioning substation control systems.
• Strong OT knowledge including RTUs, protocols and substation automation.
• Experience with cyber security and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical standards for substation control systems.
• Design, test and approve OT solutions including RTUs and equipment configurations.
• Lead technical assurance activities and support equipment approvals.
• Apply cyber security and NIS requirements to OT systems.
• Provide technical leadership across projects and stakeholders.
