Practice Plus Group is recruiting a Substance Misuse Nurse for HMP Altcourse in Liverpool. You will join a busy, multi-disciplinary team delivering nurse-led services in a category B prison, with opportunities to develop in substance misuse care.

You must be an registered nurse (adult or mental health) with experience in substance misuse, CPD evidence and a non-judgmental approach. The role offers generous salary and clear progression in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Nurse to join our team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool.

HMP Altcourse is the busiest remand prison in the country, so there's lots going on in this exciting, varied role, where you will gain valuable experience, and no 2 days are ever the same!

We are looking for a registered nurse in adult or mental health who has experience in substance misuse.

Hours

• Monday - Sunday service
• 37.5 hours per week
• Various shift patters - 7am - 8pm / 8am - 9pm / 9am - 10pm
• Nights 7.45pm-7.15am

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £34,428 - £41,659 per annum - depending on experience.

What you’ll be doing

As a Substance Misuse Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
• Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
• Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
• Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
• Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
• Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
• Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams.
