Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel Limited is seeking a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker in Crewe, UK. This full-time 3-month contract offers an hourly rate of £22.00, with hours Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00.

The role focuses on supporting individuals through referral, assessment, treatment, and recovery planning within the substance misuse field. You will undertake risk and recovery planning, deliver harm reduction interventions, and run structured group sessions and psychosocial support to aid service users

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care, Substance Misuse, Counselling, Community Work, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing a caseload within a health, social care, charity, or community-based setting.
  • Desirable training in recovery, motivational interviewing, safeguarding, or substance misuse.

Responsibilities

  • Support service users from referral and assessment through their treatment and recovery journey.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, recovery planning, and regular reviews to ensure the best outcomes for service users.
  • Deliver harm reduction interventions to reduce drug and alcohol-related risks and improve health outcomes.
  • Facilitate structured group sessions, recovery programmes, and psychosocial interventions to support and guide service users on their path to recovery.

Education

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care, Substance Misuse, Counselling, Community Work, or equivalent experience

Person Specification
  • Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care, Substance Misuse, Counselling, Community Work, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant recovery, motivational interviewing, safeguarding, or substance misuse training is desirable.
  • Experience supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse, mental health challenges, offending behaviour, homelessness, or social exclusion.
  • Experience managing a caseload within a health, social care, charity, or community-based setting.
