Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is seeking a Recovery Worker in Stevenage to support individuals through engagement, assessment and recovery planning. You will facilitate psychosocial interventions and coordinate care with clinicians and partners to promote sustained wellbeing.

Role includes working 37.5 hours per week on a 4-month contract with potential extension; DBS clearance and substance misuse experience are essential. Competitive benefits and professional development opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Current DBS on the update service.
• Experience in substance misuse (drugs & alcohol).
• Strong caseload management and keyworking skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of harm reduction and recovery models.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload from engagement to treatment and exit.
• Conduct assessments, risk evaluations, care planning and reviews.
• Deliver one-to-one and group psychosocial interventions for recovery and wellbeing.
• Advise on substance misuse, physical/mental health, housing and social inclusion.
• Collaborate with prescribing clinicians and community partners on support plans.

What you will do

• Manage a varied caseload of service users, guiding them from initial engagement through to treatment, recovery planning, and their successful exit from services.
• Conduct detailed assessments, risk evaluations, care planning, and ongoing reviews adhering to organisational policies and clinical governance.
• Facilitate one-to-one and group psychosocial interventions focused on recovery, prevention of relapse, harm reduction, and overall wellbeing.
• Advise and support on issues related to substance misuse, physical health, mental health, as well as assisting with housing, employment, and promoting social inclusion.
• Collaborate effectively with prescribing clinicians, healthcare professionals, safeguarding teams, and community partners to develop and execute effective support plans.
