Job summary

The Forward Trust is seeking a Band 5 Substance Misuse Nurse to join the healthcare team at HMP Chelmsford. The role involves delivering clinical care, conducting assessments, and supporting recovery for people experiencing substance misuse issues.

You will work 35 hours per week, hold an NMC PIN, have at least one year post-registration, and collaborate with prison staff and external agencies to promote health and wellbeing while maintaining accurate records and following safeguarding

Qualifications

Registered Nurse with NMC PIN.
At least one year post-registration experience.
Experience or interest in substance misuse nursing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Carrying out clinical assessments and developing personalised care plans.
Delivering and monitoring prescribed treatments, including medication-assisted therapies.
Collaborating with prison health staff and external agencies to provide holistic care.
Providing health education and promoting recovery and wellbeing.
Maintaining accurate patient records and following clinical standards.
Identifying safeguarding concerns and managing risks.
