Frazer-Nash Consultancy in Plymouth is seeking a Submarine Systems / Facilities Assurance Consultant to deliver technical guidance and design support for the AUKOS fleet and submarine facilities.

The role combines engineering, safety case development, and program management across naval projects, with hybrid working between office, client sites, and home. Applicants with knowledge of UK MOD safety approaches and Chartered Engineer status are preferred.

Formación

• Knowledge of submarine ship systems, Nuclear Steam Raising Plant, or Combat systems.
• Experience with submarine facility systems and safety cases.
• Understanding of UK MOD safety approaches (DSA, NSR, Naval Authority Certification).
• Familiarity with safety analysis techniques (HAZID, SIL, ALARP).
• Experience with CADMID cycle governance and lifecycle documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical guidance and design support to the AUKOS programme.
• Lead design and project management of submarine facility improvement projects.
• Identify new technologies with a 50-year outlook while minimising environmental impact.
• Assess unconventional options to reduce Radiated Acoustic Noise on personnel, systems and equipment.
• Provide technical support for in-water submarine engineering solutions.
• Provide knowledge into Pressurised Water Reactor (PWR) projects.
• Produce nuclear safety substantiation and safety justification documents.
• Support Submarine Systems Delivery Team in life-cycle documentation.
• Apply safety knowledge across a range of safety cases and documentation.
