Job summary

Babcock Plymouth, Devon, is seeking a Planning Engineer to support in-service submarine maintenance programmes, turning complex engineering data into robust maintenance plans. The role sits in a specialist planning team, with 35 hours per week at Devonport Royal Dockyard, and occasional travel to Bristol and Clyde.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification such as NC, HNC, HND, or equivalent demonstrable engineering experience.
• Experience with planning and project controls is advantageous.
• Knowledge of submarine or surface ship operations and maintenance activities (Primavera P6 beneficial).

Responsibilities

• Identify maintenance activities and work packages from engineering data sources.
• Develop and maintain indicative planning schedules and key date schedules.
• Resolve planning issues, data gaps, and ambiguities to support delivery objectives.
• Liaise with engineering teams, stakeholders, and customers to ensure planning accuracy and quality.
• Support the planning and coordination of in-service submarine maintenance periods.
