Job summary

The Edwin Group in Derby is seeking a Subject Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition on an hourly basis. The role is a part-time, long-term position starting September 2026, with sessions during the day or after school for KS3/KS4 students.

You will require a teaching qualification and experience with SEND, with a commitment to regular weekly tutoring and reporting on attendance and engagement.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification required.
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
• Ability to commit to regular tutoring sessions each week.
• Ability to complete weekly reports of student engagement and attendance.

Responsibilities

The School and Role

This local authority team, based in Belper are looking to appoint a passionate Subject Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition on an hourly basis during the day or after school. The desired Subject Tutor will work 1:1 with students in Key Stage 3 and 4 delivering subject specialist support. This part time Subject Tutor role is long term to support students to achieve their target grades.

Subjects include:

• English
• Maths
• Science

Requirements

The desired Subject Tutor will have:

• A teaching qualification
• Experience of working with pupils with SEND
• A passion for the progress of secondary school pupils
• An ability to commit to regular tutoring sessions each week
• An ability to complete weekly reports of student's engagement and attendance
