Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking a proactive Subcontractor Manager to join the team at Heysham 1 Power Station. You will take day-to-day responsibility for planning, authorising, supervising and delivering subcontractor works on site, ensuring safety, compliance and quality delivery within a regulated environment.

As primary contact for subcontractors, you will run pre-job briefs, review RAMS, gain ISM approvals for high-risk tasks, and conduct regular spot checks.

Qualifications

• Health and safety management background with on-site experience.
• Proven ability to plan and oversee subcontractor work safely.
• Strong communication and organisational skills to coordinate multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain SMOC records for all subcontractors.
• Verify documentation is current and compliant before site access.
• Supervise subcontractor activities to meet safety and quality standards.
• Brief subcontractors on arrival and oversee their activities on site.
• Conduct setting-to-work processes and pre-job briefs.
• Review RAMS prior to work; obtain ISM approvals for high-risk tasks.
• Carry out spot checks and audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Coordinate with Operations Managers to plan subcontractor activities.
• Monitor performance and raise Health & Safety concerns.
