Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, seeks a Sub Agent / CRE-C to join the Southern Renewals team. Based in our Gravesend office, you’ll work within the Earthworks discipline on schemes across the Kent route.

The ideal candidate will have CRE & TWC experience in Rail or Civil Earthworks, mentor engineers, manage direct and subcontract works, and uphold high Health & Safety standards while coordinating design-to-construction interfaces.

Qualifications

• Holds a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent (MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC).
• Experience in CRE & TWC within Rail, Civil, Groundworks or Structures environments.
• Mentors Project/Assistant Engineers.
• Manages direct and subcontract works.
• Ensures high Health & Safety standards on site.
• Understands contracts and supports commercial team to manage costs and efficiencies.
• Integrates Civils scope from design to construction, coordinating interfaces.
• Writes tender scopes and technical Civils specifications.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Sub Agent / CRE-C to join the Southern Renewals Enterprise.

The role will be based from our office in Gravesend, working within our Earthworks team and covering schemes predominantly across the Kent route.

This presents an excellent opportunity for an existing CRE-C to transition into their next challenge, or for someone with a solid experience within rail and/or earthworks to work towards CRE status.

About you

• MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC/ Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in undertaking the role as CRE & TWC within a Rail, Civil Engineering Groundworks or Structures environment
• Mentoring Project and Assistant Engineers
• Managing direct and subcontract works
• Ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety are maintained on site
• Good understanding of contracts and providing support to the commercial team in managing costs and maximising engineering efficiencies.
• Managing the integration of the Civils scope of work from the design, into the construction stage and managing the interfaces with other disciplines on the project.
• Writing tender scope, technical specifications for Civils engineering works
• PTS
• CSCS
