Job summary

CDM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Sub Agent to join a civil engineering contractor on a permanent, salaried basis. The role covers civil and public realm projects across the North East, including active travel schemes and paving works.

You will take responsibility for site delivery, coordinate site teams and subcontractors, and help ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to programme.

Qualifications

• Experience as Sub Agent or similar civil engineering delivery role.
• Background in public realm, highways or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with paving, kerbing, cycleways, footpaths or groundworks.
• Strong site management and project delivery understanding.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management and delivery of civil projects.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant and materials.
• Monitor progress against programme and flag delays.
• Ensure works meet drawings, specs and quality standards.
• Maintain health, safety and environmental compliance.

Sub Agent - Civils / Public Realm

Location: North East England

Salary: Up to £49,000 + Car Allowance

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are currently looking to speak with an experienced Sub Agent to join an established civil engineering contractor on a permanent, salaried basis.

The role will involve supporting the delivery of a range of civil engineering and public realm projects across the North East, including active travel schemes, cycleways, paving, kerbing and associated infrastructure works.

This is a great opportunity for a Sub Agent with a background in civil engineering who is looking to take responsibility for site delivery, coordinate site teams and subcontractors, and play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day management and delivery of civil engineering projects.
• Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, plant and materials.
• Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential delays.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Liaising with Site Agents, Project Managers and other key stakeholders.
• Assisting with site documentation, progress reporting and project records.
• Helping to ensure labour and resources are effectively managed.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Sub Agent, Assistant Site Agent or in a similar civil engineering delivery role.
• Background in public realm, highways or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with works such as paving, kerbing, cycleways, footpaths or associated groundworks.
• Good understanding of construction methods, site management and project delivery.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
