Job summary

Carmichael UK is seeking a Sub Agent to join the team working on diverse civil engineering sites in the Rickmansworth area. You will manage small-value sites or support the Site Agent on larger schemes, ensuring delivery meets objectives while maintaining health and safety, quality, environmental, and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering degree or equivalent.
• NEBOSH and/or SMSTS certification.
• Experience coordinating 3-4 person teams and leading site outputs.

Job description

Carmichael are seeking a Sub Agent to join the team working on various sites within the Rickmansworth Area.

As a Sub Agent, you will be responsible for the management of small-value civil engineering and construction sites or assist the Site Agent and Project Manager on larger value schemes, to achieve the required project delivery to the customer's objectives while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.

• Experienced in civil engineering project delivery.
• Experience in trenchless technology including Pipe Jacking.
• Experience in large diameter water infrastructure.
• Experience in management and coordinating complex design.
• Adeptness in delivering high level compliance and assurance across all aspects of the project.
• Expert in developing and cultivating a collaborative working relationships with client and stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication qualities to manage engineering team of 3-4 people in terms of project outputs as well as team and individual development.
• Familiarity, with NEC 3 &4 Option A, B, C and E type contracts and a proficient commercial acumen.
• Proficient at management and coordination of project budget.
• Proficient at management and coordination of project controls.
• Excellent engineering principles knowledge and setting out capability.
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting experience.
• Knowledge of working to a high level of assurance in both design and construction, including all aspects of the life cycle of a national infrastructure construction project. Including Quality Assurance and Post Construction handover and pre-construction stages.
• Construction/ Civil Engineering Degree or similar level academic qualification
• NEBOSH/SMSTS
