Qualifications

Job description

The Sub Agent will be based on our Flood Alleviation Scheme, which exceeds £25m, including piling, RC works, earthworks, and civils. The Sub Agent has overall responsibility for a specific site, typically a large-scale project, and acts as the construction leader on the ground. They manage the overall day-to-day supervision of the construction site, monitor site preparation prior to project launch, and oversee the safe and efficient operation throughout the construction phase.

Responsibilities
  1. Participate in compiling the initial programme and maintain awareness of weekly targets.
  2. Plan and oversee site setup, ensuring facilities are in place prior to project launch.
  3. Manage relationships with subcontractors onsite.
  4. Ensure adherence to HSEQS protocols at all times.
  5. Maintain quality control procedures.
  6. Ensure the TWR is in place and up to date.
  7. Monitor onsite energy and waste data.
  8. Implement an efficient registration system for monitoring individuals entering and leaving the site.
  9. Flag issues with Contract Management/Commercial Teams that could impact project delivery (materials, schedules, resources, H&S, costs).
  10. Drive project pace and plan work in the field.
  11. Coordinate and prioritize site activities.
  12. Manage a team of foremen and other site staff.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. Strong people management experience and knowledge of industrial relations practices.
  2. Ability to handle conflicting priorities and manage stakeholders, especially subcontractors.
  3. Excellent communication skills, adaptable to audience, capable of building consensus.
  4. Experience of leading teams and delivering medium to large-scale projects, with over ten years’ sectoral experience.
  5. Flood/water experience is desirable.
  6. Trade or technical background.
  7. IOSH or equivalent H&S management training.
  8. Knowledge of Temporary Works & Excavation Safety, Permitting for live energy works, Working at Heights & Scaffolding, Lifting & Cranage operations.
  9. Understanding of BIM strategy and new construction technologies.
