Associate Account Manager, Affiliate Marketing

The Role: Associate Account Manager, Advantage by AP

Location: UK

This person will be responsible for serving as the key point of contact for a portfolio of UK Advantage clients. This role will be responsible for leading the client relationship, ensuring client satisfaction as well as managing client deliverables, account strategy and execution. This person will delegate operational tasks to supporting team members while ensuring accountability is clear and deadlines are met.

TOP 5 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • LEAD MANAGE AND HOLD YOUR TEAM ACCOUNTABLE- Leads team and is accountable for timeliness and quality of deliverables. Is viewed as a reliable, go-to person. Comfortable with team delegation; clearly setting expectations, clarifying boundaries, and ensures clear work assignments. Can maintain composure and personal engagement through difficult and stressful situations while keeping others motivated. Participates in firm building when opportunities arise including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives, cross-team collaboration, and cultural & social initiatives.
  • CLIENT SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION- Consistently provides strong and quality client service, acts as a point of contact, and escalates issues or key risks as appropriate. Works with teams to ensure client develops trust in our team by overseeing client outputs and communication are delivered in the AP way, while maintaining a high-level of innovation and strategy. Develops and nurtures excellent relationships, reflected in very high client satisfaction and retention rates with a net promoter score of 8+.
  • ACCOUNT STRATEGY & EXECUTION –Manages successful client programs by developing effective strategies and efficient tactical plans for achieving client’s goals and objectives. Able to manage tightly to client scope and escalate any related issues accordingly. Consistently demonstrates intellectual curiosity; exploring ways to discover and recruit new partners.
  • PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT -Manages multiple campaigns, at 85% full ownership, with solid organizational skills and the ability to focus on and prioritize tasks based on client objectives and scope. Has full grasp of scope, delivering what is due under terms; maintains ability to identify new opportunities to drive client success while conjunctively identifying possible goal misalignments, getting to the root of an issue, and bringing solutions to resolve.
  • INNOVATION & EFFICIENCY – Able to think big picture and outside the box to find ways to discover and recruit new partners. Thinks critically about how we can increase value for clients. Pays attention to industry trends, particularly as it pertains to new partners and recruitment tactics.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

BY 6 MONTHS… The Associate Account Manager is owning and serving as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients. The Associate Account Manager has formed strong relationships with key client contacts and are the main point of contact for clients’ strategic and account questions. Challenging client or team situations are being managed in close collaboration with the Senior Account Manager, with Associate Account Manager bringing a solutions-oriented approach to these situations proactively. Client data is being leveraged nimbly and efficiently to draw conclusions. Client accounts are being handled effectively and strategically, while tightly managing to scope. Critical learnings and challenges related to new product launch are being captured, escalated, and solved for. Clients are being serviced profitably with AP targets and client KPI’s being met, and client Net Promoter Scores are 8+.

BY 1 YEAR… the Associate Account Manager is taking full accountability for their portfolio of accounts. Excellent recruitment strategies and communication is in place on all accounts and recognized as a key to client success. Associate Account Manager is able to comfortably lead, manage and delegate work to team and hold team accountable to quality and due dates. Clients are being serviced profitably, all deliverables are A caliber, and Net Promoter Scores remain consistent at 8+.

  • Able to spot issues and opportunities and escalate them accordingly, while recommending solutions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • 2+years of online marketing, e-commerce, or affiliate marketing experience required
  • Direct affiliate marketing experience (in-house, agency, network) required
  • Knowledge of Affiliate Networks or SaaS platforms (ShareASale, Commission Junction, Impact, etc.) required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • UK Market Knowledge
  • Advanced Excel capabilities and comfortable with formatting, formulas, customizing reports, a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, a plus
  • Previous experience managing and motivating direct reports, a plus
