Nomad Foods in the UK seeks a Management Accountant SU to oversee month-end close, KPI analysis and data governance across manufacturing sites. You will partner with FP&A and factory leadership to drive reporting accuracy and continuous improvement.

The role requires a fully qualified finance professional with 5+ years in production planning, forecasting and SAP experience, and the ability to lead a small finance team.

Qualifications

Overview

Nomad Foods was formed in 2015 and with revenues of €2.6bn is the largest frozen food company in Europe. Nomad owns a portfolio of leading brands including Birds Eye, Findus and iglo, supplemented in 2018 with the purchase of Goodfellas Pizza and Aunt Bessie’s, and in 2021 with the purchase of Ledo and Frikom.

We manufacture and distribute a range of branded frozen food products across 22 European countries with the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Sweden and France representing our five largest markets.

The long-term goal of Nomad is to develop a global portfolio of best-in-class food brands by growing organically and through strategic M&A.

Our Management Accountant SU are responsible for overseeing the preparation of weekly and monthly variance reporting across up to two manufacturing sites as well as driving the Month End closing, reporting and analytics including standard management presentations. The Management Accountant SU will be responsible for the ownership of analytical standards for reporting and modelling KPIs and as a key financial liaison, partnering with the various departments across the manufacturing site.

The Management Accountant SU will manage the PF&A SU team for a factory or group of factories (depending on size and complexity).

The Management Accountant SU will support the relationship with the Factory Finance business partners & factory leadership team with Month End reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly / quarterly close of management accounts, including the involvement in the preparation of monthly data reporting packages that includes analysis of KPIs and variance analysis and explanations, impact of drivers on budget/forecast, reviewing accruals and journals as required
• Build analysis reports across product costing, production variation, COGS statement and provide insights
• Review data from multiple systems and stakeholders, provide commentary and narrative, and support the Analysts/Associates as they identify trends for key KPIs for actuals
• Review variance analysis to prior periods and own the development of recommendations for leadership and finance business partners (FBP & FP&A)
• Enhance data governance processes by improving the quality and integrity of data collected, analysis performed, and reports generated
• Ownership of relevant manufacturing site information working closely with onsite FP&A team
• Facilitate standardisation and sharing of best practice across the Shared Finance team
• Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes
• Support automation and enterprise consolidation of data used in monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports
• Prepare / Review SOX controls and ensure compliance. Support all audit requests
• Line management responsibilities and provide ongoing career development support
• Hire, train, motivate, manage, and evaluate direct reports
• Set and facilitate the achievement of individual and department objectives

Qualifications

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree
• Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in production planning, forecasting, reporting for manufacturing related fields
• Manufacturing / Supply Chain Experience
• Experience with planning systems and reporting technology
• SAP

Desirable

• Previous Finance experience within an FMCG business
• Very strong analytical and forecasting abilities
• Strong modelling and solid database skills required
