Job summary

Twynham Learning is seeking a casual Student Welfare Assistant to join the Poole High School welfare team. You will provide first aid, manage minor health needs, and support safeguarding in line with policy.

Responsibilities include recording treatment in Arbor, issuing medication with parental authorisation, notifying parents when needed, and promoting a safe, supportive environment for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Have a first aid qualification (or be willing to complete a course).
• General level IT skills with some experience of Arbor or similar MIS.
• General level of literacy and numeracy.
• Experience of writing reports.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Treat students and staff with first aid care and send them home or to hospital when required.
• Issue prescribed medication or general over-the-counter medication with parental permission.
• Record details of treatment or care provided in Arbor and the day book.
• Notify parents of student medical conditions or accidents in school as needed.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in line with policies.
