Job summary

Twynham Learning is seeking a casual Student Welfare Assistant at Poole High School. You will join a busy welfare team and provide first aid, manage medications with guardian authorisation, and maintain records in Arbor and day book.

You will promote safeguarding and the welfare of children while liaising with parents and staff. The role offers a chance to support students in a friendly South Coast community.

Qualifications

  • Have a first aid qualification (or happy to complete a course).
  • General level IT skills with some experience of Arbor or similar management information system.
  • General level of literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Experience of writing reports.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

  • Treat students/staff with first aid care when required, sending people home or to hospital as necessary.
  • Issue prescribed medication or general over the counter medication with guardian authorisation.
  • Record details of all treatment or care provided to students into Arbor and the day book.
  • Notify parents of student medical conditions/accidents in school as necessary.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in line with Safeguarding policies.

About the Post

We are looking to appoint a casual Student Welfare Assistant to join our busy welfare team at Poole High School.

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Treat students/staff with first aid care whenrequired. Sending people home or tohospitalwhen necessary, within the guidelines of “First Aid at Work” trainingand alsoregulations stipulated by the Health Protection Agency.
  • Issue prescribed medication or general “over the counter” medication only with theauthorisationof the parent or legal guardian.
  • Record details of all treatment or care provided to studentsintotheir Arbor personal profile and theday book.
  • Notify parents of student medical condition/accidents inschoolas necessary.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.
