Job summary

New Hall School invites applications for a qualified Counsellor to join our Health & Wellbeing Team. You will provide confidential, one-to-one counselling for students from Reception to Year 13 and support positive mental health across the school community.

The successful candidate will hold a counselling qualification and be accredited or registered with the BACP, with proven experience of working with young people in an educational setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified counsellor accredited/registered with BACP.
• Experience working with young people.
• Commitment to Catholic independent boarding and day school ethos.
• Strong communication and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Deliver confidential one-to-one counselling for students from Reception to Year 13.
• Develop and use solution-focused interventions to support resilience.
• Set up a drop-in clinic for student self-referral.
• Maintain confidential records and comply with safeguarding policies.
• Collaborate with DSLs and pastoral teams to support student wellbeing.
