Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a Pastoral Support Assistant to work across Bradford's secondary schools, helping students with wellbeing, attendance and behaviour during the school day.

You will support interventions for individuals and small groups, build positive relationships, and collaborate with safeguarding teams to create a safe, inclusive environment that enables every student to thrive.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and resilient individuals passionate about supporting young people.
• Graduates, youth workers, support workers, mentors or those considering pastoral care or teaching.
• Excellent communicators who can build trust with students and staff.
• Patient, proactive and adaptable, able to stay calm in challenging situations.
• Previous experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students with social, emotional and behavioural development during the school day.
• Deliver interventions for individual students and small groups alongside pastoral leaders.
• Build positive relationships to improve engagement, attendance and wellbeing.
• Promote positive behaviour and help students overcome barriers to learning.
• Liaise with teachers and support staff to ensure guidance and support for students.
