Job summary

Hednesford Valley High School is seeking an Every Child Matters Co-ordinator on a 12‑month maternity cover basis. The role is 37 hours per week, Grade 8 (£30,230), term-time only, with Monday‑Thursday 8:30–4:30 and Friday 8:30–4:00.

Working with students, families and external agencies, you will lead safeguarding, attendance, wellbeing and engagement, coordinating support and ensuring safeguarding compliance across the school. You will supervise staff and contribute to policy development.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, families and external agencies.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and child protection procedures.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Identify and support students who may disengage, have poor attendance or other barriers to learning.
• Work with individuals and small groups to improve attendance, behaviour and educational outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers, including home visits where appropriate.
• Signpost families to relevant support services and collaborate with external agencies.
• Attend child protection conferences, core group meetings and multi‑agency meetings.
• Attend and facilitate Looked After Children Educational Meetings.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with safeguarding and data protection.
• Organise and oversee break and lunchtime provision, supervising staff as needed.
• Oversee safe departure of students attending after‑school activities.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and student welfare across the school.
