Job summary

Leeds East Academy, part of White Rose Academies Trust, seeks a Student Welfare Officer to promote safety, welfare and wellbeing of students and to work with the Safeguarding Team and attendance/pastoral colleagues to remove barriers to learning for vulnerable students.

You will coordinate health and safety processes, ensure staff have the knowledge and training needed to safeguard students, and contribute to a safe, inclusive school environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the safety, welfare and wellbeing of students and supports their engagement in school life.
• Works with Safeguarding Team, Attendance and Pastoral colleagues to identify barriers to learning and support vulnerable students.
• Coordinates health and safety processes and ensures compliance with relevant legislation and training for staff.
• Supports staff with knowledge and training to effectively safeguard students.
