Job summary

Christopher Carter Vets in Southampton invites applications for a Student Veterinary Nurse training role. You’ll work full-time, 8-hour shifts from 8:00 to 19:00, with one college day a week and a Saturday rota. No out-of-hours. You’ll train toward registration as a Veterinary Nurse and join a supportive team of vets and nurses.

At Christopher Carter Vets, we are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our team and to train as a Student Veterinary Nurse on a full-time basis.

Our team is made up of 2 full-time and 5 part-time vets, along with 7 dedicated nurses (5 full-time and 2 part-time nurses). We foster a supportive and collaborative environment, where every team member plays a vital role in delivering the highest standards of animal care.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will be supported and encouraged to develop both your clinical and non-clinical skills while working towards qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

You’ll be an integral part of the practice team, supporting patient care under the guidance of Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across a range of nursing duties while progressing through your training programme and developing confidence in your day‑to‑day practice.

Working Pattern

Full time role of 8 hour shifts working between 8.00 - 7.00 pm with time given to attend college (one day a week). Weekend rota of approximately 1:4 Saturday mornings with TOIL. No Out of hours.
