Christopher Carter Vets in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our team and train as a Student Veterinary Nurse on a full-time basis, supported to develop clinical and non-clinical skills toward qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

You’ll work alongside our vets and nurses across a busy practice in Southampton, with 8 hour shifts, one college day per week, and no out-of-hours. We value teamwork, learning, and a genuine interest in animal care.

At Christopher Carter Vets, we are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our team and to train as a Student Veterinary Nurse on a full-time basis.

Our team is made up of 2 full‑time and 5 part‑time vets, along with 7 dedicated nurses (5 full‑time and 2 part‑time nurses). We foster a supportive and collaborative environment, where every team member plays a vital role in delivering the highest standards of animal care.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Student Veterinary Nurse, you will be supported and encouraged to develop both your clinical and non‑clinical skills while working towards qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

You’ll be an integral part of the practice team, supporting patient care under the guidance of Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary Nurses. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across a range of nursing duties while progressing through your training programme and developing confidence in your day‑to‑day practice.

Working Pattern

Full time role of 8 hour shifts working between 8.00 - 7.00 pm with time given to attend college (one day a week). Weekend rota of approximately 1:4 Saturday mornings with TOIL. No Out of hours.
