Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant for Craigroyston Primary School. The role is 27.5 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with a pro-rata salary range of £26,806–£27,032.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team to support pupils with additional needs, including personal care and medication administration. To succeed you will need PVG scheme membership or update checks, and be committed to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional support needs.
• Ability to work as part of a school team.
• Flexible and willing to cover varying hours across 39 weeks.
• Handling personal care and medication responsibilities with training.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional needs to access education and wellbeing.
• Assist 1-1 and follow instructions in daily routines.
• Provide personal care while promoting independence.
• Administer prescribed medication per procedures.
• Support mobility and moving and handling as trained.
• Assist with learning activities and record information for reviews.
• Participate in risk assessments and professional development.
