Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant for St John's RC Primary School to join our team. The role is fixed term until 29 June 2027 and involves supporting pupils with additional needs, providing personal care, and assisting with learning activities within a calm, caring school environment.

The role requires sensitivity to safeguarding, a flexible approach, and the ability to work as part of a team to promote pupil wellbeing and inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional support needs.
• Able to provide personal care if needed.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support 1-1 and assist pupils with learning activities.
• Provide personal care and comfort for pupils.
• Administer medication and record paperwork.
• Support mobility as trained.
• Contribute to individual pupil learning plans.
• Assist in transitions between schools.
• Monitor health, safety and welfare of pupils.
