Job summary

Little Heath School is seeking a calm, well-organised Student Support Provision Coordinator to manage The Bridge provision and support students facing barriers to learning. You will work closely with the SENDCO/Deputy SENDCO and alongside Learning Mentors, teachers and safeguarding staff.

The role emphasises relationship-building, resilience and successful transitions back to lessons, with a focus on inclusion and improving outcomes for young people.

Salary:-Grade F WBC Spine Points 11-19 (£24,642.00 p.a.-£28,141.00 p.a.) pro rata

Hours:-37 hours per week, term time only, plus 2 Inset days payable on an additional timesheet

We are seeking a calm, compassionate and highly organised professional to join our Student Support Team as Student Support Provision Coordinator, taking day-to-day responsibility for The Bridge, Little Heath School's targeted Student Support provision.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in the development of a provision designed to help students overcome barriers, regulate successfully, remain connected with learning and develop increasing resilience and independence.

Working closely with our SENDCO and Deputy SENDCO, you will coordinate the daily operation of The Bridge and work directly with students, accessing planned and responsive support. You will help ensure that every student understands why they are accessing the provision, what support they need, what they are working towards and what their next step will be.

The Bridge is designed to provide a calm, purposeful and structured environment rather than simply a place for students to withdraw from difficulty. Central to the role will be helping students to recognise challenges, regulate effectively, review their readiness and return to learning or move to their appropriate next step.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• understands that good support should build resilience and independence rather than unnecessary reliance on adults;
• can support young people experiencing emotional, SEND-related or other barriers to engaging successfully with school;
• recognises the importance of learning and can help students reconnect positively with their curriculum;
• can identify patterns, maintain useful records and communicate effectively with colleagues; and
• is committed to safeguarding, inclusion and improving outcomes for young people.

You will work collaboratively with Learning Mentors, teachers, Heads of Year, Progress Leaders and colleagues across SEND, Pastoral, Safeguarding, Attendance and Wellbeing. You will also contribute observations and evidence to reviews of individual student provision, helping us understand not simply how often The Bridge is being used, but whether the support is making a difference.

The successful candidate will be comfortable supporting students at moments when they may be anxious, dysregulated or struggling to engage. They will combine compassion with appropriate challenge, helping students develop strategies they can increasingly use independently and supporting successful transitions back into lessons or other agreed provision.
