Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant to provide support for individuals or groups within a school setting. The role involves assisting with communication, written tasks, IT use, mobility, and self care, among other duties, under the guidance of school staff.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications required, though a basic school education is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with communication tasks and written assignments.
• Support individuals with motor difficulties and mobility.
• Follow instructions and complete tasks as directed by teachers/school staff.
• Monitor pupil progress in learning and behaviour on an informal basis.
• Assist in preparation of resources and materials for lessons.
• Supervise during intervals and lunch times; support with feeding and medication after training.
