Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a Learning Support Mentor for a full-time role at a secondary school in Heywood. You will work with students who need extra support, encouraging focus, engagement and confidence throughout the school day.

You'll collaborate with teaching and pastoral staff to support students in and outside the classroom, including 1:1 or small-group sessions, and help them overcome barriers to learning while building strong relationships.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school or similar setting would be beneficial.
• Ability to build relationships and stay calm when challenges arise.
• Support for students with additional needs or challenging behaviour is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support students on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
• Help pupils overcome barriers that affect learning.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
• Encourage engagement and progress in learning.
• Provide support with behaviour, confidence and motivation.
• Work closely with teachers and wider school team.
• Help students develop independence and confidence.
