Outcomes First Group’s Westbourne School is seeking a compassionate Student Support Coach to join the Student Services Team. You will provide pastoral, emotional and behavioural support to students with SEMH needs, including autism, helping them manage emotions and engage with education.

You’ll work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to promote positive behaviour, develop personalised support plans and ensure safeguarding throughout the student journey.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in education or pastoral care.
• Understanding of SEMH and autism.
• Calm, resilient, and professional in challenging situations.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with students, parents and staff.
• Ability to work independently and with teachers and external professionals.
• Good organisational and IT skills, including record keeping and monitoring progress.

Responsabilités

• Provide individual and small-group pastoral support to build confidence and wellbeing.
• Coach students in emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Respond to behavioural incidents with de-escalation and restorative approaches.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
• Develop personalised support plans and risk assessments.
• Engage with parents, carers and external agencies for coordinated support.
• Support student wellbeing in areas like friendships and self-esteem.
• Contribute to school-wide pastoral activities and safeguarding.
