Job summary

Barnsley College is seeking a dedicated Tutorial Learning Mentor in the Childcare and Health department to support learners and help them progress through their studies. You will provide pastoral support to a caseload, work with staff, parents and external agencies, and identify learners at risk to improve engagement, attendance and confidence through targeted one-to-one or small group interventions.

• Provide pastoral support and guidance to a caseload of learners.
• Identify learners at risk of underachievement and develop strategies to improve engagement, attendance and confidence.
• Deliver tutorials, support target setting and Personal Learning Plans (PLPs), monitor progress, encourage positive behaviours and help learners develop skills and resilience.
