Leeds City College in Leeds is seeking a Safeguarding Officer (Stay Safe Officer) to join the Sixth Form Department. You will work closely with curriculum teams to safeguard students and vulnerable adults, embedding safeguarding at the heart of all activities.

We emphasise a restorative approach, robust safeguarding arrangements, and a culture of vigilance and wellbeing across campuses. The role involves advising staff, managing caseloads, and coordinating safeguarding meetings and training.

Qualifikationen

• A recognised qualification in safeguarding (NVQ3 or equivalent) or substantial experience.
• Experience as a designated safeguarding officer.
• Experience with vulnerable groups in an educational setting.
• Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability to staff and student needs.

Aufgaben

• Provide specialist safeguarding advice, guidance, and training to staff.
• Manage a caseload of students with safeguarding concerns with timely action and safe plans.
• Deliver supervision to designated safeguarding officers and document discussions.
• Plan, chair, and record safeguarding meetings with clear actions.
• Deliver safeguarding training during induction, staff development days and ongoing learning.
• Liaise with external agencies and internal teams on risk assessments and safeguarding monitoring.
