Job summary

Cardiff Metropolitan University seeks a Student Recruitment Officer, Welsh Medium, to connect with future students locally, nationally and internationally within the Marketing, Communications & Student Relationship team. You’ll drive Welsh-medium recruitment aligned to our strategy.

This fixed-term contract until September 2027 is campus- and field-based, requiring regular travel across the UK. Welsh fluency, UCAS knowledge and marketing experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Fluent Welsh; knowledge of UCAS and Cardiff Met programmes.
  • Experience in marketing/engagement roles; independent worker.
  • Proven ability to deliver presentations to varied audience sizes.
  • Ability to design/e-newsletters; strong MS Office & digital skills.
  • Hold a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with feeder schools and colleges to grow applications.
  • Design and deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Contribute to annual communications plan with digital content.
  • Design, organise and deliver recruitment events that are welcoming.

Student Recruitment Officer, Welsh Medium

As part of our Marketing, Communications & Student Relationship team, you'll help shape how we connect with future students; locally, nationally and internationally. You'll play an active role in delivering student recruitment activity that supports our strategic aims, objectives and student recruitment targets.

You'll make a difference by:
  • Creating and building meaningful relationships with feeder schools and colleges within your region, helping to grow applications to the University.
  • Designing and delivering engaging, creative presentations that bring higher education to life to a range of audiences.
  • Contributing to and shaping our annual communications plan, including developing compelling digital content and newsletters that tell our story.
  • Designing, organising and delivering recruitment events that are welcoming, inclusive and memorable.

This is a fixed term contract until September 2027. The role is primarily campus and field-based, requiring regular travel across the UK.

What you'll bring

You’ll be able to communicate fluently in Welsh, with knowledge of the Higher Education application process (UCAS) including available study routes, support for applicants, and Cardiff Met's programme portfolio. You’ll bring relevant experience in marketing or engagement-focused roles and be comfortable working independently while confidently connecting with a wide range of audiences. Additionally, you’ll bring:

  • Experience of delivering effective presentations to groups of varying sizes,
  • The ability to design and build e-newsletters,
  • Good digital skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages,
  • A full driving licence.
