University of York is seeking an experienced events recruitment professional to lead the planning, management and delivery of postgraduate recruitment events. The role combines on-campus activities with online engagement and partnerships to attract Home postgraduate students.

Based in York, the role is hybrid, requiring regular campus attendance for Open Days and related events, with strong emphasis on communication, organisation and stakeholder management to support the MRAO team’s growth

• Significant experience of managing and running events, online and in-person, with relevant experience in student recruitment, postgraduate admissions and/or marketing.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and outstanding presentations, with the ability to communicate with varied audiences.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills, with demonstrable planning, prioritisation and time management.

Department

This role sits within the Student Recruitment team, part of Marketing, Recruitment, Admissions and Outreach (MRAO) within the wider Directorate of Global Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions (GMRA). The Student Recruitment team is responsible for recruiting Home undergraduate and postgraduate students to the University through higher education exhibitions, schools and colleges outreach, and large-\u2011and small-scale campus events. It is an exciting time to join MRAO as we have a vision and mandate for growth endorsed by the University Executive Board.

Role

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Student Recruitment (Schools Liaison and Postgraduate), this role works primarily in the recruitment of Home postgraduate students. This includes the planning, management and delivery of postgraduate recruitment events both on and off campus, and a range of online activity and partnership working.

This role is hybrid, based online and on-site at our campus in York. Regular campus attendance is required for frequent in-\u2011person meetings, event planning and set up, and all key university events, including Open Days and Post-Offer Visit Days.

Skills, Experience & Qualification needed

You will have significant experience of managing and running events, both online and in-\u2011person, with relevant experience of working in student recruitment, postgraduate admissions and/or marketing. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written skills and outstanding presentations skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with varied audiences. Additionally, you will demonstrate very strong administrative and organisational skills, including demonstrable planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
