Job summary

Dorset Council UK is seeking a Minibus Driver to transport students safely to educational visits, sports fixtures and other approved destinations. You will ensure vehicle safety, maintenance and student welfare at all times, working independently and using your initiative.

The role requires a full clean driving licence with D1 entitlement, prior minibus driving experience, and a strong commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Full, clean driving licence with D1 entitlement.
• Prior minibus driving experience.
• Good knowledge of the local road network.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks, including oil, water, tyres and fuel levels.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the minibus.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures, road traffic regulations and safeguarding requirements are followed.
• Complete vehicle logs and report any accidents, incidents or maintenance issues.
• Liaise with school staff regarding student welfare, behaviour and transport-related matters.
• Support the wider school community through occasional administrative or practical tasks as required.
