Job summary

Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking a talented Student Media and Engagement Assistant to lead aAh! online and print platforms and grow the co-curricular project.

You will edit and publish content, chair team meetings, write briefs for freelancers, and help run workshops. The role requires 10 hours per week, including Wednesday meetings (3pm-5pm), with flexible scheduling around studies. This position is open to current Manchester Met students with a passion for news and culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in journalism, publishing, or blogging.
• Excellent English writing and communication skills.
• Editing or proofreading experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience delivering workshops or training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Chair team meetings and support delivery of training sessions.
• Facilitate workshops and create teaching resources.
• Write content and edit/publish content produced by student teams.
• Manage associated professional email accounts.
• Pitch original ideas and develop a publishing schedule.
• Exercise good editorial judgement mindful of policy and legal issues.
