Blackburn College invites applications for a part-time Library Assistant to support students in The Exchange library spaces. You will help users access resources, navigate library systems and provide friendly, in-person assistance during term time.
The role involves some evenings and up to 17.5 hours weekly, with a pattern to be agreed. This temporary post runs until June, aligned with the academic calendar.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary support team in The Exchange library spaces, you will create a welcoming and positive experience for students, providing support which enables students to make full use of the rangeof learning resources and services available to support them in their learning. Working with students and College staff, in groupsand asindividuals, you willassistwith advice and support in accessing and using all library systems and platforms. You will also regularlywalkthe floor to encourage student participation and promote positivebehaviour.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to enable you to develop professional links with a wide range of individuals, at a variety of levels. Experience in the use of a range of IT packages and systems and working in a customer-focused environment is essential.
