Job summary

The University of Portsmouth Students’ Union (UPSU) is seeking two Insights Assistants (Student Role Only) to support the collection and analysis of student feedback. You will help identify what students want and need to inform UPSU and University services and activity.

This is a part-time student role with flexible hours around studies. We offer training, development opportunities, and a chance to contribute to the student experience at UPSU.

Qualifications

• Competent user of IT, particularly Microsoft Office suite and Google Drive.
• Ability to quickly understand and use new databases and systems.
• Experience in report writing.
• Strong analytical skills in quantitative and/or qualitative data.
• Experience in designing questionnaires/surveys (Desirable).
• Experience using Canva (Desirable).
• Evidence of commitment to strong customer service standards.
• Highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to relate to people at all levels.
• Outstanding organisation skills with attention to detail.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Enthusiasm for developing new skills if required.

Responsibilities

• Support the collection and analysis of student feedback.
• Identify student needs to inform Union and University services and activity.
• Assist in reporting and presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Familiarise with UPSU research methods and data practices.
