Job summary

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking a dedicated Student Engagement Worker (Teaching Assistant) to join our team in Portsmouth. You will promote students' physical and mental wellbeing and support learning under teaching staff guidance, contributing to an inclusive, supportive school environment.

Roles include 1:1 and small group support, collaboration with staff, and helping students access learning resources. This position runs Monday to Friday with 8am–3.30pm or 8.30am–4.00pm hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people to support mental and physical wellbeing.
• Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
• Educated to a minimum Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Highly motivated, energetic and reflective with a passion for helping students and building positive relationships with students and parents/carers.

About The Role

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking to appoint a Student Engagement Worker (Teaching Assistant) to join our dedicated and vibrant team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on young people's lives by supporting their learning and wellbeing.

As a Student Engagement Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting both the physical and mental wellbeing of our students, working closely under the direction of our teaching staff. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety and has a strong desire to support young people in reaching their full potential.

About You:
