Job summary

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking a Student Engagement Worker (Teaching Assistant) to join our dedicated and vibrant team, helping to support learning and wellbeing of students. This role is essential in promoting both the physical and mental wellbeing of our pupils, under the direction of teaching staff.

Working hours are 8am to 3.30pm or 8.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, with responsibilities including supervising 1:1 sessions, supporting group activities, and collaborating with staff to

Qualifications

• Experience in working with young people to support their mental and physical wellbeing.
• Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
• Educated to a minimum Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
• Highly motivated, energetic and reflective with a passion for helping students and building positive relationships with both students and parents/carers.

Responsibilities

• Support students' learning by supervising and assisting them in 1:1 sessions and small groups.
• Help students engage across a variety of learning activities.
• Work collaboratively with staff to ensure students have access to the resources they need to succeed.
