Job summary

Priestlands School is seeking an Education Welfare & Safeguarding Officer to support attendance and safeguarding. The role requires collaboration with staff and independent workload planning within a busy school day.

You will work with families to improve attendance and engage in safeguarding tasks alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead, including information collection, reporting and documentation, while upholding confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Have relevant experience in welfare or safeguarding within education or crossover agency roles.
• Be caring and compassionate in interactions with students and families.
• Be extremely organised and able to prioritise workloads in a dynamic school day.
• Have meticulous attention to detail in recording information and handling sensitive data.
• Be discreet with highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Help students and families commit to improving attendance.
• Safeguarding duties alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Collect, report and document information and concerns as required.
• Escalate matters through appropriate procedures, including potential legal steps, when needed.
