Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an Attendance Officer for a high-performing girls' secondary school in the Bromley area.

The role focuses on improving attendance, punctuality and engagement across the school through data analysis and proactive outreach. You will monitor attendance, make first-day absence calls, support students at risk of persistent absence, and liaise with parents and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school attendance, pastoral, safeguarding, or administrative role.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Experience using school MIS systems such as Arbor, SIMS or Bromcom.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse student attendance and punctuality data.
• Conduct first-day absence calls and investigate unexplained absences.
• Identify and support students at risk of persistent absence.
• Arrange and attend attendance meetings with parents and carers.
• Maintain accurate attendance records using the school's MIS system.
• Produce attendance reports for senior leaders and governors.
• Liaise with Local Authority attendance services and other external agencies.
• Support safeguarding procedures by escalating concerns appropriately.
• Contribute to whole-school attendance improvement strategies.

The Role
