Job summary

Pertemps Southampton is recruiting for temporary Student Accommodation Support Team Members to assist during the Bournemouth move-in weekend. Start date is 16th September 2026 with shifts across Thursday to Sunday; 16th–20th September, 4 days. Pay is £13.58 per hour, with weekly pay.

Roles are site-based, customer-facing, and involve helping students with luggage and directing visitors. There is potential for further ad hoc shifts over the summer for successful candidates.

Qualifications

• Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with students and visitors.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Physically able to assist with moving luggage and pushing trolleys.
• Comfortable working overnight and on your feet for the duration of the shift.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming students on arrival at the accommodation.
• Providing general support to students during the move-in process.
• Helping students with luggage when moving into halls.
• Assisting with pushing luggage trolleys around the site.
• Helping students use lifts and stairs safely when moving belongings.
• Directing students and visitors to parking areas.
• Providing directions and general assistance around the accommodation.
• Ensuring students have a positive and welcoming arrival experience.
• Following site procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Supporting the wider team with general duties as required.

Role Overview

We're currently recruiting for temporary, ad hoc Student Accommodation Support Team Members to support a busy student accommodation site in Bournemouth during student move-in weekend.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is reliable, friendly, and enjoys working in a customer-facing environment. You'll be providing general support to students as they arrive, helping with luggage, directing visitors, and helping ensure the move-in process runs smoothly.

There is also potential for further ad hoc shifts throughout the summer for successful candidates.

Candidate Requirements

• Comfortable working overnight and being on your feet for the duration of the shift.
• Comfortable using lifts and stairs throughout the shift.
• Good communication skills and a helpful attitude.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Previous customer service, hospitality, facilities, or similar experience is desirable but not essential.

Pay

This role is paid weekly, meaning you will receive your payment the following week.
