Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Structures Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of highway and open space structures in the South West. You will guide a team of senior engineers and technicians, ensuring robust inspection, maintenance and lifecycle planning across bridges, walls and culverts.

The role requires a Civil/Structural engineering degree, chartered status, strong leadership, and experience with asset management practices and software such as AMX. Strong stakeholder relations are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with ICE/IStructE is preferred.
• Leadership experience coaching and developing a team is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
• Oversee inspection, maintenance and improvement programmes for highway and open space structures.
• Develop and deliver capital and revenue programmes, managing budgets and ensuring standards compliance.
• Manage contractors and external stakeholders, overseeing programmes of works and projects.
• Lead strategic asset management and lifecycle planning for structures and geotechnical assets.
• Act as Bridge Manager and Bridge Strike Champion representing the council regionally and nationally.
