Job summary

Legal & General is seeking an Investment Manager to join the Structured Credit and Mortgages team within Institutional Retirement – Investments in London. You’ll help expand opportunities and strengthen the investment framework.

The role involves managing structured credit and mortgage assets, identifying risks, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and delivering long‑term value for customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative, finance or management‑related subject (or equivalent)
• CFA progress is an advantage
• Experience across Fund Finance, Consumer, Residential, Data Centres or SME asset classes
• Understanding insurance balance sheet mechanics and portfolio construction
• Buy‑side or sell‑side experience in investment banks or asset managers
• Ability to build and use complex financial models for underwriting and decisions
• Proficiency in Excel; C++ knowledge is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Support expansion of Structured Credit investment opportunities to diversify the portfolio
• Manage the structured credit portfolio identifying market risks and risk appetites
• Oversee asset manager performance ensuring alignment with mandates and risk appetite
• Develop the investment framework to maximise risk‑adjusted returns
• Lead strategic transaction execution and engage with stakeholders for implementation
• Collaborate with Investments teams and Asset Management for high‑quality delivery
• Embed Conduct Risk and Consumer Duty in daily activities
• Contribute to strategic initiatives across structured credit and securitised assets
