Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Bristol is seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer (Structural Systems Design) to join the SSD team and optimise engine sub-systems using analytical tools and FE models.

The role involves conducting structure design and analysis, experiments on test rigs, and delivering technical packages within program milestones while promoting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or regional equivalent.
• Strong knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and cross-discipline concepts.
• Ability to apply analytical thinking on technical problems and make balanced decisions.
• Knowledge of product integrity, liability and certification frameworks.
• Membership of a relevant professional body; Chartered status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structure mechanical design and analysis using numerical models.
• Plan and execute experiments on test rigs and engines.
• Provide evaluative judgement to resolve problems with engineering judgement.
• Deliver defined technical packages within programme milestones, cost, time and quality.
• Share subject matter knowledge across the function and advise customers.
• Promote continuous improvement in tools, methods and processes.
