Job summary

Interaction - Maidstone is seeking a Team Leader / Supervisor for structural steel operations in the Rochester area. This temp-to-perm position involves supervising a small yard team and overseeing day-to-day yard organisation and safety.

You will manage roughly 6 yard operatives, coordinate steel movements, and ensure efficient, safe workflow while collaborating with management. Hours are early morning, with a competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a team of yard operatives in a structural steel environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a yard setting.
• Ability to organise yard operations and movements of steel.
• Experience with loading, unloading and moving steel safely.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising a team of approximately 6 yard operatives.
• Allocating daily duties and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
• Handling and moving structural steel safely around the yard.
• Loading and unloading structural steel and materials.
• Organising incoming and outgoing steelwork.
• Coordinating the movement of steelwork through the yard and work areas.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.
• Working closely with management and other teams.
• Dealing with day-to-day issues and ensuring the yard runs smoothly.
• Carrying out general yard duties when required.
