Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment Consultants is seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor in Sittingbourne to lead a busy yard team in an industrial setting. This hands-on supervisory role requires coordinating daily operations, ensuring safety and efficiency, and maintaining production flow on a day-to-day basis.

Key duties include supervising yard activities, allocating tasks, and ensuring materials are moved and stored correctly, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a yard, warehouse, manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
• Previous supervisory or team-leading experience.
• Confident organising workloads and allocating tasks.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Good attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and use your own initiative.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervising the day-to-day activities within the yard.
• Coordinating and allocating work to the yard team.
• Ensuring materials and products are moved, stored and prepared correctly.
• Overseeing loading and unloading activities.
• Ensuring the yard remains organised, clean and safe.
• Operating relevant yard equipment and machinery where required.
• Supporting with manual handling and general yard duties.
• Monitoring workflow and ensuring daily targets are achieved.
• Carrying out regular checks to maintain quality and safety standards.
• Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.
• Reporting any issues or operational concerns to management.
• Supporting and guiding team members on a day-to-day basis.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure a smooth production process.
• Helping to maintain a positive and productive working environment.
